Love and Truth: The Narrow Path of Biblical Parenting

Image
In the quiet of our homes, we are doing the most significant work of our lives. In the Bible, Titus 2 instructs older women to teach the younger women how to love their children. But in a world that has redefined love to mean "unconditional affirmation," we have to ask: What does it actually look like to love our children biblically? Biblical love is never absent of truth. Love without truth is just feelings-based guidance that affirms sin and ultimately leads children away from God. On the other hand, truth without love hardens a child’s heart. It creates a religious, judgmental spirit and causes children to hide their sin out of fear of condemnation. To parent like Christ, we must walk the narrow path where love and truth meet. The Danger of the "Natural" Approach We often see parents today letting their children "figure things out" for themselves, assuming wisdom will just happen naturally. But Scripture tells us otherwise: "Foolishness is bound u...

My Blog Evolution: Why I Quit the Algorithm

Image
If you’ve been following me for a while—whether for two years or ten—you’ve seen me evolve. I’ve been blogging in some form for over a decade. I’ve moved from website to website, rebranded more times than I can count, and dabbled in just about every corner of the internet. I’ve sold workout shakes and subscriptions; I’ve co-hosted a podcast (that is no longer); I’ve even taken the courses and tried the "hacks" to go viral with Instagram Reels. But if I’m being honest? It was exhausting. The Trap of the Screen For a long time, I felt like I was constantly performing. Putting myself in front of a screen always felt a bit inauthentic, like I was acting for views rather than sharing from conviction. I was always chasing the next "viral idea," and it left me drained. Along the way, I had a deep conviction about my home. I realized that my children were never meant to be "content" for strangers. My family is a gift to be protected, not a product to be marketed...

More Influence in My House Than the White House: Finding Peace in a Chaotic World

Image
The other day, I found myself deep in the digital trenches. I was reading headlines about wars, political conflicts, and heavy questions about our faith and how it has been impacted by the modern world. Naturally, I did what many of us do: I sent a flurry of texts to my husband, unloading all the "big news" I had just uncovered. When he called a little later to ask if I was okay, I realized I had accidentally stressed him out! I assured him I was fine, but it made me pause. It is so easy to get overwhelmed by the "macro"—the things happening across the ocean or in the halls of government. But as a Christian homeschool mom, I am quickly brought back to the "micro." I have four hungry children who need to be fed, instructed, exercised, and cared for. I realized that while I may have zero control over what happens in the White House, I have a tremendous amount of control over what happens in my house. From Rabbit Holes to Reality As women, we want to know t...

Gardening, Not Manufacturing: A Christian Mother’s Call to Flexible, Spirit-Led Parenting

Image
As mothers, it’s easy to fall into the trap of thinking we have to raise our children with perfect structure, routines, and outcomes—almost like we’re managing a factory. But God didn’t design our children to roll off an assembly line. They’re each uniquely crafted, and our homes are more like gardens than factories. In a garden, things grow in seasons. Some plants need more water. Others thrive in the sun. Some bloom early, while others take longer. This is how our children grow—at different paces, with different needs, and in ways we don’t always anticipate. That’s why flexibility is essential. But flexibility doesn’t mean we abandon all structure or guidance. It means we lean not on our own understanding, but on the Word of God and the guidance of the Holy Spirit . Parenting isn't about control; it’s about cultivating . And that cultivation begins with our own hearts. Jesus said in John 15:5, “I am the vine, you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will be...

The Grace to Grow: Encouragement for New Moms

Image
When I became a mother for the first time, I named my daughter Grace —not fully realizing how fitting that name would become for the journey ahead. Grace was such a gift. She made me a mom, changed my heart, and filled our home with joy. But what I didn’t expect was how much grace I would need to give myself in the process of becoming the mother God was shaping me to be. As a mom of four now, I look back and see how much pressure I put on myself—especially in those early days. We live in a world flooded with information: expert advice, parenting books, influencers, reels, podcasts. And while many of these voices are helpful, they often contradict each other, leaving us wondering: Who do I trust? Am I doing this right? Here’s what I’ve learned: start with prayer. Before diving into another blog post or video, talk to the One who created you—and your child. God is not only the author of life, but the sustainer of your motherhood. He’s ready to give wisdom when you ask. Talk with your...

Doing Our Best, for His Glory: A Christian Mother’s Encouragement

Image
As mothers, we carry a deep desire to do our best—for our children, our families, and our homes. But in the quiet places of our hearts, we sometimes question why we’re striving. Are we trying to earn God’s approval? Trying to prove something to ourselves or others? The truth is, we don’t mother out of a need to gain God’s favor. We already have it—fully and freely—because of what Christ has done for us. The cross is our reminder that we are loved, chosen, and accepted, not because we’re perfect, but because He is. So we pursue excellence in our motherhood not as a burden, but as a joyful response to God’s grace. We give our best—not to be enough, but because He is enough. We serve our families out of gratitude, not guilt. That also means we never stop growing. When we learn better, we do better—not out of shame, but out of love. We seek wisdom, we listen, we reflect, and we refine. Not for perfection’s sake, but because we want to leave a legacy rooted in truth, grace, and love. A ...

From Selfish to Selfless: A Journey into Motherhood with God’s Grace

Image
Becoming a mother is one of the most sacred transformations a woman can experience. From the very beginning, when that tiny heartbeat becomes part of your own, something shifts deep within. Suddenly, life is no longer just about you—your plans, your preferences, your comfort. It becomes about someone else entirely. Someone God has entrusted to your care. I won’t pretend the change is always easy. There are sleepless nights, tired mornings, and days when you feel like you’ve lost parts of yourself. But here’s the beautiful truth: in that losing, you begin to find something even greater. You find purpose. You find grace. You find strength you didn’t know you had. Motherhood has a way of tenderly stretching your heart, teaching you to serve without expecting anything in return. It transforms selfishness into selflessness—not through guilt or duty, but through love. A love that mirrors Christ’s love for us: patient, forgiving, unwavering. If you’re not a mother yet, know this—your life i...
