How to Use the BLESS Method to Easily and Authentically Share Your Faith

Sharing your faith doesn't have to feel forced or intimidating. In fact, it can be as simple as building genuine relationships and showing God's love in everyday moments. One practical way to do this is by using the BLESS method—a simple, relational approach to evangelism that fits naturally into daily life.

So, what is BLESS?

BLESS is an acronym that outlines five intentional practices that help you share your faith in a way that feels authentic and compassionate—not pushy or performative.

B – Begin with Prayer/ Bless with Prayer

Before you do anything, start with prayer. Ask God to guide your interactions and open your heart to the people around you. Pray for opportunities, for the courage to show love, and for the Holy Spirit to work through you. You may also use prayer as a way to intercede on behalf of another, opening up an opportunity to bless someone based on something they have shared that needs prayer.

“Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful.” – Colossians 4:2

L – Listen to a Friend

One of the most loving things you can do is to truly listen. Ask questions and let others share their stories, their struggles, and their beliefs. Listening shows you care—not just about sharing your views, but about understanding theirs.

“Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.” – James 1:19

E – Eat with a Friend

Something powerful happens when we share a meal. It creates a space for conversation and connection. You don't need a fancy dinner party—even coffee or lunch can be a chance to build trust and community.

Jesus was often found sharing meals with people from all walks of life. It was one of His primary ways of connecting.

S – Serve a Friend

Look for ways to serve the people around you in tangible, thoughtful ways. Acts of kindness—big or small—speak volumes. Whether it's helping a neighbor, encouraging a friend, or volunteering your time, serving builds bridges.

“Serve one another humbly in love.” – Galatians 5:13

S – Share Your Story & God's Story

When the time feels right, share how your faith has made a difference in your life. You don’t need to have all the answers—just be real. Talk about your struggles, your transformation, and your hope in Christ.

“Always be prepared to give an answer… for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.” – 1 Peter 3:15

Why the BLESS Method Works

The BLESS method shifts the focus from preaching to presence. It's about being available, being kind, and building trust—letting people see Jesus through your life before they hear about Him from your lips.

It’s not a checklist—it’s a way of life. And the beauty is that anyone can do it.

If you’ve ever felt unsure about how to share your faith, try starting with BLESS. Begin with prayer, be a good listener, build community around meals, serve with love, and when the time comes, share your story. It’s not about perfection—it’s about connection.

I hope this helps you share your faith today!
